In one year, Russians bought half a million baseball bats but almost no baseballs

Russia seems to have a different national pastime.

Speaking to the Russian news agency TASS, Viktor Kovalenko, a Moscow police chief, reported that 500,000 baseball bats were sold throughout the country in 2015, but only one baseball and one pair of gloves.

According to Kovalenko, bats have become popular weapons wielded by drivers during road rage incidents.
